so here we go, 16 facts about me:

1. I’m a Chinese, I think my Chinese is better than most college students in TW (even after I left TW for 7 years); I can read/speak Japanese but mostly learned from Anime; I hate English, although my English might still be better than most college students in TW too XXXD

2. I have 6 ABJD right now, all Volks, yeah I know, that’s expensive like hell. I don’t even want to count how much I spent on them — the truth is tooooo scary to know (*___*)

3. I DO have a boyfriend and I think I have more guy friends than girl friends (don’t ask me why)

4. I play WoW on TW server. Blood Elf Mage at LV55 (just LVed up today XD) and I think female blood elf is sexy XXXD I will never play Death Knight ’cause I don’t like the class specific quest for DK!!! for the horde!!

5. I listen to all kinda music — except rap. You can find 70′s, 80′s, metal, rock, pop, J-pop, Visual Kai, classic…. etc etc in my Sansa e260 but no rap!!! (well, in fact you can find 1 and the only 1)

6. I have 3 computers right now, 2 laptops and 1 desktop. the desktop is about… 8 years old and still working — that makes me really want to kick it down from the highest building in SB to end its life XXD Toshiba laptop just caused me all kinda trouble but I’m still using it — otherwise I have no PC to run WoW with XXXD Acer little baby is the best! light, small, cute, and I can just take it to anywhere — well, if I don’t WoW that day XXXXD

7. I love cartoons!! (yeah, I know, I’m 24 and still watching cartoons) My favorite Disney cartoons are Robin Hood, Alice in Wonderland, and Silly Symphony series. Favorite characters are Lady Kluck from Robin Hood, Mad Hatter from Alice, and I don’t know, I love all silly symphony series characters XXD Only those with singing are Disney, Pixar are NOT Disney!!!

8: I love Manga!!! Petshop of Horrors by Matsuri Akino, Clover by CLAMP, Angel Sanctuary by Kaori Yuki, Kaguyahime by Reiko Shimizu, and Skip Beat! by Yoshiki Nakamura. and yes, I do have them all in book form!! (I might have more than 300 manga ar….) I love to read too, no, it’s different from manga. Dragon Raja by Lee Yeongdo and Shi Jing from old old Chinese literature. I have tons of books, just flowing everywhere in my room/home/home in TW….

9. so Yes, I HATE moving!!!! I’m too good in hiding stuff and keep forgetting what I have: I have too many books need to pack/unpack, too many hidden doll stuff need to hide/rehide….. I just simply have toooooooooo many stuff!!

10. I’m more a night person than a day person. I just can’t keep awake during the sun still shine up the sky. I might yawn at 4AM but I know I’m totally awake!! so basically I do all my work at night — deeper the night is, more awaken I am.

11. I’m addicted to coffee, no sugar, 4 creams. I tried to quit it when I was a senior in high school but it just all came back when I started my junior year in university. still trying to quit it that I’m with green tea after graduated from U.

12. I love to drive, all kinda cars are fine with me. I’ve driven a Ford Explorer and it just scared me to death XXXD too big, I can’t even see the tail of the car when I tried to parl (*__*) but I have to warn you, I’ll lose my temper easily when driving!!

13. I’m also addicted to internet. I spent about 50% of my awaken time in front of my computers. easily upset when Cox is dead or speed is low (gee, how can you go in a raid when FPS is about 7 only?!)

14. I’m working as a student lab assistant in SBCC and still wondering if I still have this job next semester (thank you so much, XXXXXX CA government, you just cut 70% of tutor/assistant budget!!!)

15. I’m tired now. although I’m a night person, I still need sleep T____T

16. yes, that’s the last one! sometimes I got really hyper for no reason. I’m crazy and I’m mad, whatever you want to use to describe me are all fine. XXXD

’cause I chose an intro of sculpture and my first project is casting — with some kinda reason, I use Este’s hands for this. I can’t really remember how long I spent in the studio but the night right before the presentation, I spent 8 hours straight to hang those little hands onto ceiling.

this is how it looks like at the end. 145 hands casted in total, probably only used about 100.

the first thought is from a glass piece I saw in Corning Museum of Glass, It’s Raining Knives by Silvia Levenson. That’s why I decided to hang those hands up, instead of putting them in jar or on pasta plate.

the movement idea is come from a commercial back to 2006, directed by Nagi Noda, a Japanese artist, designer and director. The way she did with the frozen animation, put each frame separately, and kept the motion moving, inspired me with my own project. I put hands in different positions and kept them in line to simulate the motion of 2 people. These 2 people were at the opposite corners of the room, saw each other, and ran toward each other to have a high five. Their emotions were presented in the colors of the hands. First, they were happy when they saw each other, so the hands are red. However, they suddenly thought about “do I really want to see this person?” and remembered some bad memories between 2 that made hands turn purple and blue. But they were still happy to see each other and they turned back to warm color as yellow. At the center of the room, they had their high five.

I feel kinda bad after the presentation ’cause I forgot to mention her name. she did several impressive commercials (I’d say that’s another form of art) and you can just youtube her name to look it up.

some of the classmates said if I don’t mention the story, they thought those hands are simulated butterflies flying. It could be, since butterflies never fly in straight lines. Some others said I could also put them in candy jar ’cause all the colors I use were so similar to candy colors.

oh well, since this is casting my daughter’s hand, she was there for my presentation too. Actually, both she and I were part of this piece. The flying hand line started at the door way that if I did hang up hands there, it might hit people all the time and probably be gone by the time of presentation. so I took those off, left a gap there, and use Este’s and my right hands to complete the piece.

I don’t feel anything wrong when I call my troublesome laptop a “defect product.” of course, you can have your pride on your products but hello, your product cause me trouble and your repair department didn’t fix it and you ask me “can you prove it’s defect?”

man, you should not ask someone who’s still in college this kinda question. let’s do it in the logical way.

given: if the product doesn’t have any defect parts that causes customer trouble, it is not a defect product

IF the product does have some defect parts and cause customer trouble, it is a defect product.
the truth about my laptop: it has a “defective” fan (that’s how Toshiba address the symptom, I didn’t change the word) and has a not current BIOS, which causes me tons of trouble
and I can give at least 2 examples to prove something wrong in the laptop

so? the result is clear to see and I was so angry when I heard that customer service person asked me that question.

“can you prove it’s NOT a defect?” I asked him as well, and then he fell into the loop that saying he’s not the one using the laptop and he’s not the one working in repair department and he doesn’t have the right to do exchange and bla bla bla.

I’m totally disappointed with Toshiba. from products, the repair department, to customer service…. man, the only time I got quick response is you guys come and collect my money.

WHATEVER, Toshiba. do whatever you like to the customer. I’m so sick of you.

to whoever is gonna get a laptop, don’t choose Toshiba, or you’ll feel sorry for yourself.

as title said, I’m going to complain about Toshiba — not just the computers they sell but also their customer service.

For now, I have 2 laptops from Toshiba, M45-S355 and M305-S4819. They both cost me tons of trouble and the customer service just make the experience worse.

Let’s talk about M45-S355 first. I got it from Circuit City back in summer 2005. It was a great deal, if and only if Toshiba gave me my rebate for 1oo bucks — they said they never received my form which I sent out twice already. Then, 37 days, exactly 37 days after I bought this laptop, it broke. It just simply could not turn on, nothing was running and I had to call customer service for help. I’ll complain about customer service later so let’s go directly to the conclusion for this laptop. It turned out that one of the memory sticks was broken and luckily it was the 1st one that broke. Other wise I would not find out something was broken in my laptop.

Then, M305-S4819. It also came from Circuit City, early April this year. It came with Vista and no manual included so I called in to ask for manual. 2 months later, I could not wake up the monitor from screensaver even though the laptop was still working. Of course, I called in and nothing really solve my problem. Another month passed, I still could not wake the monitor up except turned off and turned on, what’s worse, the monitor started to flash. At first, it just flashed about 1/4, then 1/2, then 3/4, and finally the whole screen flashed like crazy between super bright and super dark or even black out. You think that’s it for this laptop? Sorry, that’s not yet finished. About 2 weeks later, it started to turn on itself when I tried to turn it off regularly!!!! WTF, what kinda quality control it is?

Finally, to customer service. Toshiba put their 800 number to India that I can’t really understand WTF they are talking about. and I think some of them are brainless. When I first called about M45-S355, I clearly stated that “I have only 1 computer with me and that is the one not working.” However, the guy from customer service answered me with “so you can go online and check where is the closest repair center.” Hello? Am I speaking in language of Mars or what? After I told him AGAIN, I had no other computer access, he told me where is the repair center with NO address provide. Therefor, I asked for address (mark this, I DID NOT ask for direction), he said AGAIN, “you can go to our website to find…..” This time I didn’t even let him finish the line but cut it with anger, “do I have to tell you in every line I said? I DON’T HAVE OTHER COMPUTER AROUND ME!!”

Second time I called, I was going to try my luck and see if I can get someone else with understandable English. Fact proved me wrong, I was again, leaded to an India woman. After couple line, I didn’t even get to the point about this call (I need to ask what should I do to repair my M305-S4819 — the closest one is 100 miles away), she hung up the phone and left me at the other end of the phone as a fool. With anger, this time I called to a 949 number they put on their website (which is a number in Irvine). Lynn (I think that’s her name) solved half of my problem (complaining about rude 800 customer service) and promised she’ll send someone back to me later to collect my info to do Laptop Depot (need to send M305-S4819 in for repair) It was about 11 this morning and yet I didn’t receive any phone call from Toshiba now (it’s 4PM as I’m typing this post) I tried to call them around 3PM, the front desk transferred me to 3 different people and none of them pick the phone. The 4th guy was a poor guy — he had nothing to do or I should said, he is not even in that department. Anyway, he also promised me he’d bring my case to the correct department (which is just cross the hall) But up to now, nothing happens.

Toshiba, are you just wanna sell your computer out and leave the customers along with your defect products? I am NOT going to get anything from Toshiba AGAIN and I WILL NOT suggest Toshiba to my friends or anyone who ask me for advices. You totally lost a group of customers just because of your horrible customer service.

ok, so this is another character in “Maiden’s Promise”, which contain Liz, Emma, and Cristal. According to what Volks has for the story and setting, Liz falls in love with Eden at the first sight and at the end of setting, even Volks doesn’t know who might be the one Eden loves.

What if, Eden saw Cristal and fall in love with her at the first sight too? I mean, not Liz, not Emma, but CRISTAL????

man, that will be so fun — it will turn out like, Liz loves Eden, but Eden loves Cristal, however Cristal loves Liz……….. poor poor Emma XXXD

Biscuit. According to Sam, that’s the best biscuit he ever had. We took Han’s fist as reference but if you can’t tell how large it is, just keep going….

about the time we were eating biscuit, the waitress came and serve the main dishes to the table next to us. Han wasn’t prepared and he was in a shock….. (I should took a photo of his face XD)

Crispy Indiana style hand hammered pork tenderloin (I guess, I forgot the name anyway) Sam and I got the same one and we still took Han’s hand as reference. The plate is huge, about the size of my body, and the food is huge too, I didn’t finish it at all (Sam said he couldn’t tell if I ate anything from his angle…..)

Sage fried chicken, it was Han’s dinner. He was going to finish everything but left 2 waffles at the end. We were going to Tea Station but called off since Han almost puke out XXXD

anyway, I have lunch&dinner for tomorrow in fridge now, probably lunch for the day after….. gee Orz

Hash House A Go Go

1. Normal setting is single bass drum ’cause double bass drum required more energy during performance. But Jukka Nevalainen’s drum sets is double bass drums!!
2. Nightwish had “red wine bottle”, “beer bottle”, “Tequila bottle (I think)”, and water bottle on stage. omg, everyone around me was already drunk in some level, they were also drinking up there?!
3. actually, Anette Olzon looks better in person than photo XD and so do all other members

overall, it is a really great concert. but, but, but, they need to cut the gap down between 2 performances. The gap this time is like, 30 to 40 minutes and I’ve already cool down though =.=

ok, I’m going to finish the second part (and maybe go back and edit the previous post)

the stamp on my hand showed that my ticket is read and I can just use that stamp to enter the concert
wrist band is to prove I’m over 21 and can legally drinking in House of Blue (you have to get it before you enter, otherwise they won’t serve any drink even with ID)
(but I’m a good driver and I won’t do something like DUI XXD)

well, as all the live show, the band members will throw out several things they used during the whole show at the end. I’m lucky that when Emppu Vuorinen (guitar) threw out the second piece of pick he used during the show, the pick hit me (that’s actually pretty hurt =.=) and that’s why I got his pick :)

OMG, my legs are still hurt (man, I’m still too short in heels) but that’s so much fun~
